Description
This is an unissued/unused example of the waterproofing kits issued for each gas mask before an amphibious operation. The kit is in excellent condition and could be used for its intended puropose with any of the many GI gas masks of WWII. However, it's a neat item by itself which was routinely carried in the gas mask bag, but which is rarely found today however.
Features
- The kit is contained in a dark olive drab shade #7 canvas pouch approx. 4" x 4" and marked "Kit, Gas Mask, Waterproofing, M1".
- The pouch contains two clips, a small roll of cellophane (aka "Scotch") tape in a cardboard container for sealing seams and an instruction card sealed in clear plastic (see images below).
